Samuel Njoroge wins maiden Savannah Tour Title at Railway

Home player Samuel Njoroge overcame a strong field of 44 professional and top amateurs to win the sixth leg of the Savannah Golf Tour played at the Railway Golf Club. Njoroge made good use of local knowledge to post 7-under par 65, two shots better than Kakamega Golf Club’s Dismas Indiza.

Njoroge posted a bogey free first nine headlined by five birdies before sinking another four birdies on the back nine only to be pegged back by two bogeys on the 13th and 17th to claim the Kshs. 64,000 prize money.

“I had a great game today motivated by a strong field.  The Savannah Tour is really doing us good and giving us very good preparations for major tournaments,” said Njoroge.

Runner-up Indiza had an equally decent outing carding two birdies and a bogey on the front nine and four birdies on the back nine to take home Kshs. 46,000.
