Youthful Muthaiga went five points clear heading into the final day of Kenya’s oldest golf tournament, the Tannahill Shield.

The day one leaders picked 12 points, staying atop of the table despite being put to the test by Western and Mombasa who garnered 14 and 12 points respectively in the morning session

Western would lose ground in the afternoon session, eventually closing the day on 30 points to finish joint second.

Defending champions Royal lost more ground, collecting a total of 14 points as they bade their crown farewell.

Karen Country Club stayed bottom of the table, collecting 10 points on Saturday…their relegation fears not helped by this performance as they count on Sigona and Royal to stumble in the bid for safety.

The inter-club competition is played over four rounds in three days with the final round taking place on Sunday 8 August 2021.
