The inaugural Kenya Savannah Classic, fully sponsored by the European Tour, will tee off at am tomorrow at the Karen Country Club. Whereas virtually all the foreign pros who lined up at Karen last week will be trying their luck for the second time, the Kenya Open Golf Limited has made a slight change on the list of the locals bringing on board youngsters Mathew Wahome and Mohit Mediratta to replace veteran Jacob Okello and Tony Omuli. Uganda’s Deo Akope has also been drafted in to bolster the Safari Tour foreign professionals’ numbers while young Njoroge Kibugu and Mike Karanga are the new faces on the amateurs list.
Tomorrow’s draw has two interesting matches after Magical Kenya winner Justin Harding was drawn alongside Romain Langasque and Sam Horsfield who finished fifth and eighth respectively. Another high stakes game will see Magical Kenya runner up Kurt Kitayama take on second runner up Syme Connor and former champion Guido Migliozzi.
DStv today released a schedule that will see the company broadcast the tournament live for a total of 12 hours over the next four days. “We want to assure Kenyan golf followers that they do not have to worry about not being at Karen as we will reach them wherever they will be,” Nancy Matimu MultiChoice Kenya Managing Director assured fans.
